NeCGA Future Leaders in Ag (FLAGship) Scholarship Program
Overview
The Nebraska Corn Growers Association (NeCGA) administers the Future Leaders in Ag Scholarship (FLAGship) for students in Nebraska who plan to continue their education within the state. NeCGA will award up to five scholarships of $2,000 each to qualified high school seniors or college freshmen.
Who may apply
- Nebraska high school seniors or college freshmen who will remain in-state for their college education.
- Applicants may be pursuing an agriculture-related degree or a program outside of agriculture.
- The applicant must be a member of NeCGA or the son/daughter of a NeCGA member.
Required application materials
- Letter of recommendation
- Current résumé
- Official or unofficial transcript
- A written response explaining the issues the applicant believes the agricultural industry is currently facing
Application process and additional opportunities
NeCGA is collaborating with the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) to streamline scholarship opportunities. A single application submitted via the NCGA scholarship portal will be considered for the NeCGA FLAGship awards as well as any eligible NCGA scholarships. Several local Nebraska associations also list scholarships through the same consolidated application link.
Important dates
- Application deadline: January 31, 2026 (all applications must be submitted through the NCGA scholarship application portal).
- Notification of recipients: spring 2026.
- Scholarship payments distributed: December 2026.
