NBA Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Nebraska Bankers Association
Am I Eligible?
To be considered for the NBA Foundation Scholarship, students must satisfy all the following requirements:
Legal Residency in Nebraska
Applicants must be Nebraska natives. Students from outside Nebraska, even those studying in Nebraska colleges, are not eligible.
Academic Level
The scholarship is available to full-time college students who are in their junior or senior year.
- Applicants must have finished at least their sophomore year by the commencement of the Fall 2025 semester.
- High school students are not eligible.
Enrollment in a Nebraska College or University
Applicants must be full-time students at a college or university in Nebraska, excluding the University of Nebraska schools (UNL, UNK, UNO, and UNMC).
Field of Study
Applicants must be working towards a bachelor's degree in business, with a focus on:
- Finance
- Accounting
- Economics
- Marketing
- Another banking-related major
GPA Requirement
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Application Process
Step 1
- Fill out the initial part of the application using the form provided below.
- NBA staff will contact you to confirm receipt of your form.
Step 2
The following documents must be sent to nbacommunications@nebankers.org by January 31:
Essay
In an essay of 200 to 300 words, answer these questions:
- What are your career objectives?
- How will the banking sector contribute to your future career?
Letter of Support
Provide a letter of support from a banker who is a member of the NBA. If you are acquainted with a banker, feel free to ask them. If you don't know a banker, the NBA can assist you in finding one.
The banker can use these guidelines for the letter:
- The student's career aspirations, particularly if they plan to work in banking
- Whether the student is a worthy recipient and/or how the scholarship would benefit them
- Your overall impression of the student, including their involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, and work experience
Resume
Submit an up-to-date resume that includes relevant work or volunteer experience, extracurricular activities, education, and so on.
