Paumanauke Native American Indian Scholarship

Introduction
The Paumanauke Native American Indian Scholarship is supported by Paumanauke Native American Festival, Inc., a nonprofit organization. Its purpose is to encourage and support Native American Indian students in completing their higher education.
Eligibility
Applicants must be tribally enrolled Native American Indians who are enrolled full-time at an accredited post-secondary institution (college, university, or other accredited post-secondary school) to be considered for an award.
Award Details
Each year the program grants scholarship awards of $500.00 (Five Hundred Dollars) to qualified applicants. No more than six scholarships will be awarded in any single year. In addition, one applicant each year is selected to receive the Nat Sales Memorial Award in the amount of $750.00 (Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars). This memorial award honors Nat Sales, who envisioned the scholarship program; as he said, "The children are our future and it is our obligation to these native young people to encourage them through scholarship programs to help preserve the cultural past in creating a bright new future."
Application Guidance
Applicants are encouraged to submit materials as early as possible and to include ample supporting documentation to help the selection committee evaluate applications. Do not send original documents—submit photocopies only. Original documents will not be returned unless prior arrangements have been made.
