American AgCredit Scholarship

Overview
The American AgCredit Scholarship is being administered by the Siskiyou County Farm Bureau for 2025. A single $1,000 award will be offered. Completed applications must be received no later than March 7, 2025. Send application materials to: Siskiyou County Farm Bureau, 809 Fourth Street, Yreka, CA 96097.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Applicants must live in Siskiyou County.
- Candidates should be planning to enroll at an accredited college or university and intend to major in agriculture, agribusiness, business, accounting, finance, or another agriculturally-related discipline.
- Minimum GPA to qualify: 3.0.
- Students may receive only one American AgCredit Scholarship per year.
- Selection considerations include leadership, demonstrated commitment to the agricultural industry, academic record, and financial need. The Scholarship Committee may request an interview with finalists.
Application Procedure
- The application must be completed by the student applicant.
- All application materials must arrive at the address above by March 7, 2025 to be considered.
Required Attachments (submit with your application)
1. A summary of school involvement (clubs, teams, extracurriculars), honors or awards, and any additional information you want the committee to know.
2. An autobiography outlining your career objectives, why you chose agriculture as your career path, and how this scholarship would assist you.
3. A description of any work you have done in the past three years—this may include work on the family farm, part-time positions, or jobs for outside employers.
4. Official high school transcript(s) — a transcript from each high school attended must accompany your application.
5. Three letters of recommendation submitted with the application.
Selection and Notification
Recipients will be chosen by the Scholarship Committee based on the stated criteria. If requested, applicants should be prepared to participate in an interview.
