Taylor Huth Memorial Scholarship

Introduction
The Taylor Huth Memorial Scholarship was created by family and friends of Benjamin Taylor Huth to honor Taylor’s enthusiasm for life. The fund supports local students who have shown resilience while living with epilepsy and who are committed to pursuing higher education.
Award details
- One-year scholarship of $2,000.
- Intended for outstanding local students who: have faced or are facing the challenges of epilepsy, have demonstrated academic success, have participated in activities outside the classroom or served their community, and who show a strong intention to take full advantage of college or graduate study.
Who is eligible
You are eligible to apply if you:
- Are under a doctor’s care for epilepsy, and
- Fall into one of these educational categories:
- A high school senior who has applied to college
- A college freshman, sophomore, or junior
- A college senior who has applied to graduate school
- An adult planning to begin or resume college coursework
- Reside in Ohio or Northern Kentucky
How to apply
Submit the following materials to the address listed below:
- An essay (no more than 250 words). Use an appropriate essay structure (for example, a five-paragraph format: an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph). Choose one of these prompts:
- How you have overcome or are working to overcome the personal, social, or academic challenges posed by epilepsy
- What living with epilepsy means to you
- Who has supported your success and how they contributed
- An accomplishment of which you are especially proud
- Official or unofficial transcripts as proof of academic performance
- Documentation of extracurricular involvement or community service
- Two letters of recommendation (one must come from your physician or neurologist)
